Vest Saga

I have been working on a vast assignment.  I started my vest about 3 months ago.  Boy, it was a lesson for sure in how long it could take.  Plus the pattern was supposed to be easy and it was after I got over the vagueness of the pattern that things began to come together.

I was working off and on between my duties as a Professor and housewife. It isn’t always easy to sit for long periods of time and get a lot accomplished. But slow and steady wins the race, right?

Got two pieces finished and was happily working on the right side. But again because I didn’t think it would have to be made in the opposite manner(pattern said make it the same)I finished it. And lo and behold it wasnt right..sooooo……I had to take it out and reverse the armhole.!!!!!

Well, it is pretty much finished. Few more rows on the edging and getting it blocked…..

Yippie! The saga of the vest is almost finished!

Slipper Crazy

I don’t know why, but slippers are becoming one of my favorites to make.  There is no limit to the colors or designs…flowers or bows.

Or baby booties…no limit !   Like all my designs, they take practice and sometimes they aren’t perfect.  But putting them together is a pleasant, calming,  stress release. 

Living in Korea is a stress filled life for me.  I am finding that it is a culture like non other I have ever lived in.  It is a vortex….so crocheting is my saving grace along with my trust in God. 

Beauty in colors and flowers are an amazing part of my life…
Put on a pair of slippers is also a comfort.

Jewelry Obsession

I am beginning to really enjoy making jewelry.  It is like I can’t stop trying to make It.  I really find inspiration in Greek and Native American Jewelry.  I am printing out graph paper to start designing.  I am just a beginner, but I have found people are really enjoying my designs.  

I am sure I have much to learn, but am so pleased to start making beautiful Items.  It is so much fun to be creative.  It gets me out of doldrums and lifts my soul.  I am not one to wear much jewelry.  But It is beautiful.  It is hard to express how exciting and happy making it makes me feel.  I am really loving the latest creation.  I have searched and I don’t see anything like it so far. It needs working and refining all my work.  But I guess if you don’t keep on Keeping on, dreams will never come to pass.
